Two women died and another sustained serious burn injuries in three different incidents of acid attacks in West Bengal, police said on Sunday.
While a 30-year-old deaf and mute woman died of burn injuries in Tehatta of Nadia district after an unidentified man threw acid on her when she was sleeping on Saturday, another woman succumbed to her injuries in Trakeshwar area of Hooghly district, after battling for two weeks.
Jyotshna Malik, a widow, was attacked with acid on July 24 for refusing advances by a man.
In Burdwan district's Kalna, another woman suffered acid attack and was hospitalised serious burn injuries on her face.
