At least two people were killed in an armed attack Monday on a NATO tanker on the Pakistan-Afghanistan highway, a media report said.

The tanker was transporting goods for NATO forces deployed in Afghanistan, Dawn online quoted officials as saying.

The tanker was attacked near the Wazir Dhand area that is situated in the northwestern tribal region of Khyber Agency, the officials added.

Last week, an attack on the same highway had also left two people dead.

Pakistan is a key supply route for the US-led security mission in landlocked Afghanistan.
