Two people were arrested Monday from Bagdogra airport in West Bengal's Darjeeling district after a firearm was found inside their luggage minutes before they were to board a flight to Delhi, police said.
The duo was arrested after a pistol was discovered from inside a bag while it was being scanned by security personnel.
Following interrogation of the duo, police detained a third man who had delivered the bag to them.
The accused have claimed that the pistol was given to them by an army officer.
Bagdogra police station in charge Sonam Lama said they are verifying the claim.
