Two people were injured on Friday when a burqa clad gunman opened indiscriminate fire in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, police said.
A senior police official told IANS that counter insurgency Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel were chasing a suspected separatist guerrilla who upon being challenged opened indiscriminate fire, injuring two people.
The incident happened at the main bus stand of south Kashmir's Pulwama district, over 30 km from summer capital Srinagar.
"A man and a woman sustained bullet injuries when the pistol armed assailant fired indiscriminately," the police official said.
The injured have been rushed to hospital, he added.
The burqa clad attacker has been nabbed, police said.
