A two-member committee was on Tuesday formed to probe 18-year old shuttler Niharendu Mallick who died last week.
The committee will have Olympian Gurbux Singh and lawyer Ushanath Banerjee.
Mallick collapsed while playing at the SAI eastern region badminton courts on September 23. He was immediately taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Going by biopsy report, the cause of Niharendu's death was "unknown."
"We want to make an independent inquiry," said SAI director M.S. Goindi.
