The Assam Rifles on Thursday shot dead two terrorists in Arunachal Pradesh.
An official said the incident took place at Shankpani in Changlang district.
An Assam Rifles official said that one of the slain men belonged to the anti-talk faction of ULFA. The other was suspected to be affiliated to a Manipur-based terrorist group.
"Based on specific information, our troops carried out an operation in Shankapani," said an Assam Rifles spokesman.
"Two of the terrorists fired on our troops forcing them to retaliate, leading to death of the two," he said. Pistols, ammunition and grenades were recovered from the slain militants.
