Two policemen were Tuesday injured in a grenade explosion on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway here, police said.
A senior police officer told IANS two policemen sustained minor injuries when suspected separatist guerrillas hurled a grenade at a passing police vehicle at Narbal on the highway, 15 kilometres from city centre Lal Chowk, Tuesday evening.
The injured policemen were taken to hospital for first aid, the officer said.
The vehicle attacked by the guerrillas belonged to the special operations group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, sources said.
