Two suspected terrorists said to be Pakitsanis have been arrested here in Uttar Pradesh, officials said Thursday.
The two were part of a terror module planning to target senior political leaders, including BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, during campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls, informed sources told IANS.
Both men, identified as Barkat and Muzammil, were arrested late Wednesday. They have been taken to Lucknow for questioning.
"We were given leads by Delhi Police after the arrest of Indian Mujahideen's Tehsin Akhtar, and the arrests in Gorakhpur are a fallout of this tip," an official told IANS.
Both men are said to be from Multan in Pakistan.
