"Mud" actor Tye Sheridan will play the lead role in filmmaker Steven Spielberg's upcoming movie adaptation of novelist Ernest Cline's book "Ready Player One".
"Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" actress Olivia Cooke has already been cast in the female lead along with actor Ben Mendelsohn, reports variety.com.
Cline's novel, published in 2011, follows the rise of virtual reality universe the Oasis, which humans living in the not-too-distant future begin to value above the real world.
Sheridan will play Wade Watts, a poor orphan from the "stacks" surrounding metropolitan Oklahoma who joins the Oasis.
The film is slated to release on March 30, 2018.
