Tickets for the FIFA U-17 World Cup final and third place match to be played at the Salt Lake Stadium here on October 28 have been sold out.
On FIFA's official website, all seats were marked in red meaning all the tickets were sold out in the third phase of sales which started on July 21 and was scheduled to end on October 5.
The fourth and final phase of of ticket sales will commence from October 6, when the tournament gets underway. Only full-price individual tickets for the relevant matchday can be purchased during the forthcoming phase.
The eastern metropolis will host 10 matches including the summit clash. Tickets for the Group E and F matches along with one round of 16 game and a one quarter-final tie are still available.
"It is quite astonishing that all the tickets that have been put for sale for the third Place and final matches in Kolkata have been bought by the fans," Local Organising Committee (LOC) tournament director Javier Ceppi said in a statement.
"This is historical, because to be able to get this response more than 60 days from the tournament is something that we have not seen before.
"For sure, the atmosphere for the third place and final matches of the FIFA U-17 World Cup will be amazing and all those lucky fans who have been able to get a hold of tickets for this game will be in for an experience of a lifetime. We hope that this also motivates all the football fans across the country to get their hands on a ticket for the remaining 50 matches of the World Cup," the Chilean added.
Phase I and II tickets were also sold out in the football-crazy city within 12 hours of opening.
