Shopping mall Sahara Centre in Sharjah, one of the seven sheikhdoms of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said on Sunday that it is displaying the world's largest gold ring, Najmat Taiba (Arabic for 'Star of Taiba').
Customers at the mall can enjoy an opportunity to view the $3 million masterpiece, Xinhua news agency reported.
The 21-carat Najmat Taiba, which has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records and endorsed by the World Gold Council, weighs 63.856 kilograms and is studded with 5.1 kilograms (11 pounds) of precious stones and diamonds, as well as 615 Swarovski crystals.
The Najmat Taiba cost its owner only $547,000 to make back in 2000, when gold was priced at about $250 an ounce. Gold prices has since soared and are now trading high at about $1,497.50 on Sunday's market, giving the ring a value estimated at $3 million, said the statement.
