Revanna Umadevi's hopes of regaining the World billiards title were dashed as she went down 209-226 to Emma Bonney of England in the final here Wednesday. The English player thus won her eighth title.
Bonney and Umadevi finished in that order at the conclusion of the league phase with the English player remaining unbeaten while the Indian won three of the four matches to qualify for the final.
The two-hour final was marked by cautious play by both players with Umadevi leading by a small margin. However, nearing the end, Umadevi missed a cannon that saw Bonney back at the table to finish the match.
