Brazil coach Dunga has called up uncapped Atletico Mineiro defender Jemerson for the team's home World Cup qualifier against Peru in Salvador on November 17.
The 23-year-old replaces David Luiz, who was suspended after being sent off in Brazil's 1-1 draw with Argentina in Buenos Aires on Friday, Xinhua reported on Sunday.
Jemerson has made more than 100 appearances for Atletico and was part of the team that won the 2013 Copa Libertadores - South America's top club competition.
Despite his call up, he is unlikely to be given a starting berth at the Fonte Nova arena on November 17.
Dunga is expected to entrust Corinthians centre-back Gil to play alongside Miranda at the heart of Brazil's defence.
