Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Thursday said that upgraded Jammu airport will be able to provide improved services to air travellers.
"We believe in augmenting infrastructure of our airports to enhance connectivity," the minister said after inaugurating the upgraded airport, an official statement said.
"With the upgraded Jammu Airport, we would be better prepared to give improved services to air travellers visiting this city of temples."
According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, passenger traffic movement at Jammu airport reached 1.16 million during 2016-17.
"To cope with the increasing passenger growth and demand, the existing terminal building of Jammu airport has been expanded and upgraded," the statement said.
