Uruguay striker Diego Forlan has been ruled out of Internacional's Campeonato Brasileiro match against Portuguesa Sunday after failing to recover from an ankle spain.
The 34-year-old suffered the injury during Uruguay's 2-1 victory over Peru in their World Cup qualifier Sep 6.
"Diego hasn't completely recovered and he needs a few more days of rest before he is available," reported Xinhua citing Internacional coach Dunga said Saturday.
The Porto Alegre outfit are set to regain Argentine striker Andres D'Alessandro for the match at Arena do Gremio.
The 32-year-old has recovered from a rib injury suffered during his team's 1-0 victory over Criciuma on September 15.
Dunga's side are currently fifth in the Campeonato Brasileiro standings, four points behind fourth-placed Atletico Paranaense.
