The US theatrical rights of superstar Vijay-starrer Tamil actioner "Theri" have been bagged for a whopping sum of Rs.3 crore by CineGalaxy Inc, a Texas-based distribution company.
"The rights were procured for Rs.3 crore. We'd like to thank producer Thanu for trusting us and giving us the opportunity to release the film. It will be a grand release on April 14," Sanjay of CineGalaxy Inc. told IANS.
Directed by Atlee, the film features Vijay in the role of a police officer, donning three different avatars.
Although an action film at heart, "Theri" will also focus on the bond between a father and his daughter.
Also starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson, the film introduces veteran filmmaker Mahendran as the antagonist.
