The US Tuesday announced it has designated a Norwegian citizen as a terrorist for joining Al Qaedain Yemen.
Anders Cameroon Ostensvig Dale travelled to Yemen to join Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) and has received terrorist training and was taught to make explosives, Xinhua reported citing a US State Department statement.
As a result of the designation, all property subject to US jurisdiction in which Dale has any interest is blocked and US persons are generally prohibited from engaging in any transactions with Dale or to his benefit, the statement said.
The US designated AQAP as a foreign terrorist organisation in January 2010 and has since blacklisted many of the group's leaders as terrorists.
