Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane is suffering from a muscle injury in his left leg that might prevent him from playing the final of the Champions League football competition against Atletico Madrid next Saturday.
"After tests carried out today on the player Raphael Varane he has been diagnosed with a grade 2 injury in the left thigh muscle. His recovery will continue to be assessed," Real Madrid said in a statement.
And thus, the Frenchman might not be able to participate at the Champions League final which to be held at the San Siro stadium in the Italian city of Milan, reports Efe.
French head coach Zinedine Zidane decided earlier to include Sergio Ramos and the Portuguese Pepe in the final's starting lineup, although the club was certain of Varane's readiness.
