Vashisht Narain Singh was on Monday formally installed here as the Janata Dal-United's Bihar state unit President, a day after he was re-elected to the post.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former party President Sharad Yadav were present at the ceremony.

Singh, considered close to Nitish Kumar, who is also the JD-U President, was re-elected unopposed. He was the lone candidate to have filed nomination papers for the post.

"My vision is clear to work hard for the expansion of the party," said Singh, a Rajya Sabha member.
