Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu has urged BJP members of parliament to go to their constituencies and "counter the congress propaganda."

Speaking at the meeting of BJP's parliamentary party on Wednesday at Parliament Annexe, Naidu said that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and President Sonia Gandhi had been attacking the government on several counts, including the amendments being sought in the land acquisition law.

He said much of the information being given by them to the public on government policies and legislation was "misleading."

Naidu, who spoke in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also gave the members several brochures on the achievements of the Modi government, asking them to spread the word on the schemes launched so far.

Modi did not speak at the meeting.

A BJP parliamentarian from eastern Uttar Pradesh expressed concern over the "lackadaisical attitude" of union ministers.

The MP said most central ministers never respond to the concerns raised by fellow parliamentarians, which in turn creates discomfort for them while addressing issues related to their voters.

The comments by the BJP Lok Sabha member in front of Modi left the other ministers squirming.

This, however, led to an abrupt adjournment of the meeting, according to MPs who did not want their names to be mentioned.
