Former Manchester United and Argentina midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron has been named in Estudiantes' football squad for their opening Copa Libertadores clash against Botafogo here on Tuesday.
The 42-year-old announced in December that he would come out of retirement and donate his salary back to Estudiantes, where he is also club president. Veron was named in Estudiantes squad on Saturday, reports Xinhua.
Veron, who won the Copa Libertadores with Estudiantes in 2009, retired from football in 2014.
But he agreed to play again after supporters bought 65 percent of viewing boxes at the club's new stadium.
Capped 73 times for Argentina, Veron's career has included spells at Manchester United, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Lazio.
