Counting for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections began on Tuesday amid tight security, a poll official said.
The vote counting for the November 28 polls was underway at 51 centres from 8 a.m.
Counting of votes of EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines) will take place only after the completion of counting of the postal ballots.
The strongroom housing the EVMs were opened at 7.30 a.m. in the presence of high security.
Results will be declared in a round-wise manner which will delay the process than it had been in the last election.
