Two children were killed and three injured when the wall of a house collapsed on Monday in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district, police said.
Officials said the incident took place at the house of Ilias in Sudhwapur village when the wall of a mud house caved-in all of a sudden.
Phoolchand, a tenant, lived in the house with his family on the first floor and as the wall caved in, the roof came down, burying his daughter Rohini, 7, and Sujita, 5.
The two died of suffocation after lying buried in the rubble for a long time.
Phoolchand, his wife Kalawati and infant son Pankaj have sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a Lucknow hospital.
