Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav Thursday tried to play down the death of patients as a result of the doctors' strike, and asked journalists if anyone had died from their families.

Asked by media persons at the Raj Bhavan as to what was his take on the suffering of patients and the reported deaths due to want of treatment during the strike by doctors, Mulayam Singh said: "Who is dying, who has died from your family?"

Some journalists tried to protest, but Mulayam Singh walked away in the company of former chief minister N.D. Tiwari.
