In a new telephonic message to the voters in Punjab, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal promises to book the people involved in sacriledge of the Guru Granth Sahib.
Kejriwal, speaking in punjabi, promises that after his government is formed in Punjab he will catch and make an example out of those involved in sacrilege.
"Sat Shri Akal, I am Arvind Kejriwal speaking, one year back in Bargadhi Guru Granth Sahib ji was insulted, till now those who did it have not been caught yet... our government will catch them and will punish them in such a way that no one will ever dare to do that," Kejriwal said in a 41 second audio.
He continues that he respects all the religion and holy texts.
Series of sacrilegous incidents of the holy text of Sikh faith -- Guru Granth Sahib -- incited violence in Punjab in 2015, while some were also reported in 2016.
Among the first incidents, pages of the holy text stolen in June 2015 were found outside the Gurudwara of Bargadi, Faridkot on September 2015.
