Wipro net up four percent in Q1

Software major Wipro Ltd has posted net profit of Rs.2,190 crore for first quarter of 2015-16, registering four percent year-on-year growth, as per the Indian accounting standard.

In a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday, the company said total revenue grew 10 percent YoY to Rs.12,240 crore for the quarter.

Under the International Financial Reporting Standard, net income for the quarter is $344 million and revenue $1.9 billion.

The company's flagship global IT services business revenue was up 10 percent YoY to Rs.11,580 crore ($1.8 billion).
