Indian IT bellwether Wipro Ltd. Monday announced expanding its presence in Oman to meet its growing business needs.
"We plan to double our headcount from 70 professionals currently over the next 12-18 months in our Gulf subsidiary at Muscat to meet rising demand for our services," Wipro Gulf LLC business head Mukund Seetharaman said in a statement here.
The global software major set up the Gulf subsidiary in 2011 to serve local clients in diverse verticals spanning aviation, banks, engineering, government sectors and oil & gas in the Sultanate of Oman.
"As we see a lot of interest from clients in the region for services around business enablement, simplification and analytics in the long-term, we are committed to deliver solutions and build on our footprint to create new job opportunities in the local market," Seetharaman said.
