A woman staged a protest outside the residence of her in-laws here on Tuesday after what she said was lingering torture by her moneyed husband and his family who wanted her to bear a male child.
Police found Monika Jain seated with some neighbours outside the Kavi Nagar house of her in-laws demanding justice.
The woman said she was married to Gaurav Jain, said to be a garment exporter, in October 2008 and a girl child was born to them.
After that, she said, she conceived several times but all the time her husband forced her to abort the child saying he only wanted a male child.
"He has been forcing me to produce a male child which is not in my hands," the distraught woman told the police.
