The dismembered body of a woman was found on Tuesday on the Chauri Chaura Express in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh when it was being cleaned, police said.
The discovery was made when the cleaning staff was mopping a general coach soon after the train reached Gorakhpur from Kanpur in the morning.
The body of the middle-aged woman was wrapped in a big polythene and then stuffed in a black bag.
A police source said the hands and legs of the victims had been chopped off and the private parts were mutilated. The body has been sent for autopsy.
