Former boyband member Zayn Malik may be banned from releasing his solo music for the next two years, but his friend and collaborator Naughty Boy has teased that his single will be a "very soulful" one when it comes out.
The producer offered details of what fans can expect from Malik's solo project in an interview with Britain's Capital FM, reports aceshowbiz.com.
"He's making a very soulful record. He's writing himself on it as well. I think it's worth the wait. The less I say about it, the better... I think it'll all make sense soon. Zayn's his own man, no one can tell Zayn what to do, especially me," said Naughty Boy.
A few weeks ago, Malik's solo music was previewed with a leaked cover of Rae Sremmurd's "No Type". On the track, he handled the soulful hook while British rapper Mic Righteous rapped the bars.
Following the leak, Naughty Boy said he and Malik had nothing to do with the track. Meanwhile, Mic Righteous insisted that he recorded the song along with the two a while ago, and claimed that Naughty Boy denied his and Malik's involvement because the singer's label didn't allow him to put out new music for two years.
