'Red' corner in Mamata's heart

Railway Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee is not allergic to all communists on this planet, it seems. Even as she battles the communists of West Bengal, she admits that two communists have a place in her directory of favourite personalities: Fidel Castro and Ho Chi Minh. Banerjee recently told people at an informal gathering that she had started respecting Ho after she saw his simple cottage during a visit to Vietnam as part of a Youth Congress delegation. As for Castro, she hasn’t visited Cuba but developed a respect for him after reading a lot about him in various books and journals.
