The Narendra Modi-led government is planning a big bash on its third anniversary with an exhaustive media plan to reach all corners of the country. There will be press conferences in major cities, television spots and exhaustive use of the audio-visual media. A big focus of the three-year bash would be the pro-poor initiatives taken by the government, particularly those targeted at the SCs, STs and minorities, and how they have changed the lives of people. Officially, the government is saying it is a routine exercise; Opposition members say that the entire exercise is planned with an eye on the 2019 general elections.
