Ministers and bureaucrats are not the only ones putting in long hours under new Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Many ministries under their new heads have now asked their housekeeping staff to report earlier to ensure that the corridors and rooms are cleaned by 9 a m everyday to enable officers and staff to start work as soon as they arrive. In fact, some of the ministries have asked their officers to get rid of unused and obsolete items from their rooms before leaving their offices at the end of day.
