At a function in a south Mumbai college, former Congress MP Milind Deora told the audience that when his party lost the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, many told him it would not come back to power for at least two decades. That situation had changed now, he said, with a lot of people he met these days telling him there was a growing disaffection with the current government at the Centre. Noted lawyer and former law minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government Ram Jethmalani, seated next to Deora, whispered - albeit loud enough for anyone nearby to hear - that he was one of them.
