Home Minister P Chidambaram recently revealed that he considered Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council Chairman C Rangarajan his “guru”. The former finance minister, who worked with Rangarajan when the latter was Reserve Bank of India Governor, said Rangarajan was “a very fine human-being of our times” who never frowned or scolded anyone. Rangarajan replied by praising Chidambaram for his intellectual brilliance and unbiased, professional attitude.
