Dinner diplomacy?

Much is being read into the dinner meeting between President Pratibha Patil and former Speaker Somnath Chatterjee the other day. Given the chances of a fractured electoral verdict, the President’s role will be critical and it is likely that she is seeking opinion from as many experts as possible.
