Event of the century

At an event during his two-day visit to Sikkim, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was the first prime minister of the 21st century to have spent a night in Sikkim, adding that the last time an Indian prime minister spent a night in the state was in the 20th century. Critics immediately read his statement as an attempt to highlight the alleged neglect the state had suffered under previous central governments.
