The social networking bug has also bitten the finance ministry, which is the latest government department to join Facebook. The finance ministry has created a page as well as a profile on the social networking site and these are a big hit among people, especially journalists, who want to be “friends” with North Block. The ministry is using the platform to publicise various reforms and initiatives it has taken, including its five-pronged strategy to deal with black money, as well as send out invitations for functions the finance minister attends.
