Amid the growing clamour to bring Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to national politics, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh is working overtime to sell the credentials of her brother, Rahul Gandhi.

In an interview to a television news channel, Ramesh said Rahul Gandhi's values were far superior to those of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, "who has a remarkable ability to twist facts".

"I don't think there is a difference between what he says, what he believes and what he does," the former Union minister said. He also hoped that Rahul Gandhi's much-anticipated elevation to party president would happen sooner than later.
