P Chidambaram is used to being pursued by reporters, whether in his current job as home minister or his previous one as finance minister and certainly now during the controversy over the Lok Pal Bill. But after the Group of Ministers’ meeting on Air India, he had the unfamiliar sensation of being ignored; it was Civil Aviation Minister Vyalar Ravi that reporters were chasing instead. So just before he got into his official car, Chidambaram ironically asked journalists whether they would like to take a photograph of the inside of the car.
