The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is clearly desperate. It wanted to fly out a planeload of journalists to Karnataka for the anniversary of the B S Yeddyurappa-led government there. Unfortunately for the party, the entire celebration was eclipsed Lokayukta Santosh Hegde's resignation that very day, along with accusations that the BJP government was shielding those paid by the mining mafia. So, late at night, reporters got SMSes informing them that the trip was off, without giving any reason — as if one was needed!
