Union Minister for Human Resources Development Kapil Sibal has lately been emphasising vocational training for school students. To drive home the point, he narrated an incident from one of his school inspections in England, when a principal invited him to lunch. “As we went down for lunch, I saw a beautiful kitchen; a five-star kitchen. And as we sat down at table, four or five students served us,” Sibal said. Why were students preparing and serving food in a school kitchen, he asked the principal. The dry reply was: “Not everybody in class is bright”.
