Organiser, the mouthpiece of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), sees a silver lining in the power cuts that have beset Delhi in the last three weeks, which have, in a sense, coincided with the Narendra Modi-led government taking charge at the Centre. In his editorial in the June 22 issue of the weekly magazine, editor Prafulla Ketkar has likened the situation in the electricity-starved Delhi to that of Gujarat when Modi took over as the state chief minister in September 2001. "Incidentally, on this issue, history is repeating itself," Ketkar writes, pointing out how Modi launched an "unprecedented makeover" of the power sector in Gujarat, making the state "a role model for others states" through its Jyoti Gram project. The unmistakable inference being that the Modi sarkar is likely to herald achhe din for Delhi as well.
