Letters: A principled leader

This refers to the report "Mandela's death stirs sense of loss around the world" (December 7). Nelson Mandela was a person of great integrity, who took massive personal suffering in his stride for the sake of his countrymen. He upheld a basic value and principle that all people are created equal and should be treated so. And above all, he bore no malice towards those who disagreed with him or even imprisoned him.
