Either one should work as part of a system in a spirit of cooperation, or call it quits

With reference to “I am convinced you have lost your mind: Ram Jethmalani tells Justice Karnan” (March 12), the eminent jurist should be complimented for speaking his mind. Besides other qualities, a judge is supposed to have “judicial temperament”. For far too long, Justice Karnan has acted as one of his own cause. Because he was unable to get along with other judges he was transferred from the high court in Chennai to Calcutta. Even after that he has continued levelling serious allegations of corruption against other judges. When the apex court recently issued a bailable warrant against him, he threatened to file a case under the SC/ST Act. He should understand that even the “brahmastra” ceases to be effective if used, or threatened with, too often. Either one should work as part of a system in a spirit of cooperation, or call it quits and fight it from outside.
