Letters: Take a quick step

With reference to T N Ninan's column, "Safety first" (August 22), the Centre should ensure safety for Indian industry. World markets are in turmoil. The economy is under pressure. The steel industry in India is running on heavy losses. Workers are forced to go hungry. The state of affairs in Chhattisgarh is bad: crime has risen due to loss of jobs. The government should check any wrongdoing in the workforce.
