With reference to “Yogi Adityanath to follow Modi’s mantra of development”, (March 20) since winning the 2014 Lok Sabha elections there has been no turning back for Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The party has nearly conquered 50 per cent states. All this while its leaders have reiterated one Modi mantra — “sabka saath sabka vikas”. The massive majority attained in Uttar Pradesh by the BJP reveals an overwhelming support the party from the people of the state. But what ought not to be missed is that with such a massive victory and support comes huge responsibility. Till date the party had been claiming that during the Samajwadi Party regime the state did not benefit from any of the schemes of the Centre. Now there is no such “blockage” for the party to carry out its development plans.

During and post-demonetisation the common man of India has sacrificed a lot, but not lost any faith in the dreams promised by BJP leaders. Now the time has come to turn them into reality, and retain the faith of the people. News reports highlight how the party is leaping ahead to prepare ground for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. However, that target will only be realised when the expectations of people are met. Ankita Kalia  Chandigarh
