There's no escape for bureaucrats and other officials who have taken time out to enjoy the extended weekend. That's because vacationing babus have been directed to participate in the Swachh Bharat drive at their nearest office. Food Corporation of India (FCI) and food ministry officials in particular will be hard put to find an excuse not to attend. They have been directed to report to their nearest FCI office to participate in the drive. With the Corporation's vast network spread across the length and breadth of the country (which includes hundreds of depots), it is very difficult for any official to give the exercise a miss.
