A mall in Raipur that was opened to the public without much fanfare some time ago was finally “inaugurated” on Sunday, after five months. The organisers who had been trying to get an appointment with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh finally succeeded when they learnt that Singh was going to watch Peepli Live that was being screened at the mall on Sunday. As Singh entered the mall, the organisers quickly guided him to a place to light a candle, thereby announcing the formal opening of the mall. Thanks to the senior ministers accompanying the chief minister, the mall owners who strove to get one luminary, got many as a bonus.
