Congress party radicals are whining about Dr Isher Ahluwalia’s silk and pearls! Sections of the Congress party are not enthused by the Kirit Parikh committee’s recommendation that LPG cooking gas prices be raised. What has incensed them more is that pictures of the committee’s report presentation to Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora showed committee member Ahluwalia wearing silk and pearls, and all others in suits! “How can we ask middle-class housewives to accept an LPG price hike recommended by people dressed like that?” whined a party member!
